After damage during World War II, Leipziger Platz remained uncovered for many years. Around the turn of the century, reconstruction gathered pace, comprising office and retail buildings, the Canadian embassy and the Mall of Berlin.
The 1,300 sqm site at Leipziger Platz 18 & 19 represents the last of the eight parts of the complex still to be constructed.
Renowned architects leonwohlhage won an international architectural competition in 2016 and construction is expected to commence in 2017.
