Munich/Unterschleissheim, 30 January 2020 – The FREO Group (FREO), an international investor, developer and asset manager, has celebrated the official laying of the foundation stone for the first phase of the KORYFEUM office campus on Landshuter Strasse in Unterschleissheim. Braving the winter cold, the event was attended by around 80 representatives from the companies involved in its construction, along with numerous local politicians and guests.

During the ceremony, the principal and investor Matthias Luecker, Chairman and CEO of FREO, along with Christoph Böck, First Mayor of Unterschleissheim, and architect Georg Gewers of Gewers Pudewill Architekten ceremonially presented a time capsule to Stephan Muckenthaler, Managing Director of Leitner GmbH Bauunternehmung KG, the company commissioned to construct the shell of the building. The capsule contained a Munich daily newspaper, a company prospectus, a brochure about the construction project and a customary coin. In keeping with tradition, the capsule was set into the symbolic foundation stone, to the applause of the attendees.

The first phase will see the construction of office and commercial space with a lettable area of ca. 25,000 square metres GFA. Overall, the Landshuter Strasse site of around 60,000 square metres will be developed into a comprehensive, state-of-the-art and innovative office campus, providing a total lettable area of over 80,000 square metres GFA. KORYFEUM will meet all the requirements of forward-looking architecture and energy efficiency. The aim is to attain Gold Standard Certification from the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB) and Wired Certification to indicate the highest level of sustainable and digital infrastructure. In its development of KORYFEUM, FREO is adhering to the United Nations’ Principles for Responsible Investment (UN PRI) and its Sustainable Development Goals and is committed to observing environmental, social and governance (ESG) criteria.

Handover of the first units is scheduled for the 4th quarter of 2021.
